History:
At the end of 2006 the MikroKopter and UAVP projects began as open-source developments and produced the first flyable universal aerial video platforms. Flying these early models was kind of a white knuckle affair and our first open-source dinosaur still hangs from our office wall. This battered unit stands as testament to the years of development involved to produce the MikroKopters we now sell.
Whilst indulging in our own passion for all things kopter, we discovered that it was very difficult to acquire the necessary parts here in the US, and that shipping from Europe took a long time. This fact, along with the realization that assembly of these first technologies was rather complicated and time consuming first inspired the idea of a web site for MikroKopter/quadrocopters that included links, pictures and support.
Nowadays our Multi-Rotor platforms have come a very long way, are easy to fly and come fitted with the latest GPS and navigational controls. Our web site contains links to various public forums for MikroKopter questions and support, and we remain updated on all the latest innovations to make flying a MikroKopter a addictive and inspiring activity.
Fortunately for us, inspiration is just outside our front door. Located in NW Montana, just a short drive west of Glacier National Park, the natural surroundings of this area lend themselves to an array of photographic opportunities. Mountain vistas lie in every direction from a few hundred feet above our office, and when not working we are both very passionate Enduro (dual-purpose) riders.
